TC: Inclusion as a basis for equality
Training course “Inclusion As A Basis for Equality ” 2-8 September 2016, Tha Hague, Netherlands gathered 30 enthusiastic participants from 9 different countries to develop their knowledge and skills about social exclusion and inclusion and share their unique country experience about this topic.

Youth Line – Netherlands
- The main aim of this informal group is to give young people a fighting chance at realizing their full potential professionally and personally in a fast changing and increasingly more complex world. We hope to becomea relevant platform of knowledge and experience exchange among youth on European level and a valuable partner for professionals and organizations involved in youth work.
Obciansky Spolok- Slovakia
- The main aim of the NGO is to develop social competences, developing, maintaining and support the interests, culture and free-time activities of Hungarian minority in South of Slovakia through creative programs and events. The NGO as well focuses on promotion of better understanding of cultural diversity, helping our society to evolve from multicultural substance to intercultural one. We are active on a local and regional level, but we also organize large scale international activities cooperating with similar organizations in neighbouring county.
Rönesans Enstitüsü Dernegi – Turkey
- The main goal of the organization is is to provide qualified youth services to young people and to build sustainable partnership which brings together the local one with the universal one in order to give opportunities them to realize their selves.
ARS FOR PROGRESS OF PEOPLE – Belgium
- We want to provide individuals, NGOs, international donors intergovernmental institutions with technical advices and expertises to support Project Management.
TDM 2000 MALTA – Malta
- The main aim of TDM 2000 Malta is to increase youth participation in society on a local and international level, to provide the tools and opportunities for its youth members to be active in society on a local and international level. This is done through the various voluntary activities organised by our organisation on a regular basis.
Youth Line – Latvia
- The aim of the organization is to provide a space for young people to develop their talents and abilities. Youth Line Latvia also works on youth policy related issues – promotion of youth rights, recognition of non-formal learning, recognition of volunteering to ensure that young people are encouraged to develop as active citizens.
VIVID z.s. – Czech Republic
- To improve and involved youth through various activities on local and international level, to enrichment the cultural life and education in rural areas of Moravia. Another important aim is to raise the tolerance between different social groups and improve the life quality in the environment of their coexistence.
Associazione Studenti per la Città – Italy
- It is a non-profit organisation composed of university students, high school students and young graduates who work towards the inclusion and participation of young people in university life as well as in social and cultural environment. The main aim is to support young students who have fewer opportunities and supplements their education with opportunities for learning both at local and international level.
SEIKLEJATE VENNASKOND – Estonia
- The main aim is to keep the system very simple in the way it’s easy to approach to organisation to apply for the project. The NGO members participated and organized different youth exchanges, seminars and training courses concerning equality, media impact, innovation, fight against racism & xenophobia, human rights, mobility and migration, HIV prevention, environment protection and other issues.
Social exclusion is a major social problem of our time and each of us is facing with it every day. Social exclusion is often a cause of poverty, conflict and insecurity. Certain groups in society are systematically excluded from opportunities that are open to others, because they are discriminated against on the basis of their race, religion, gender, caste, age, disability, or other social identity. This is the reason why the idea about this project was born.

- Raise awareness about the importance of inclusion on local, national and European level;
- Discover reasons and factors that cause social exclusion and exchange practices among youth workers from different countries on various aspects. Compare exclusion and inclusion cases.
- Understanding about concrete tools, methodologies that can be used for working with youth
- Understanding and using new Erasmus + Programme for youth work.
- Stimulating new youth initiatives ideas and projects.

Reasons for Exclusion and Recommendations
Upbringing and finding issues differences in culture is important topic that divides a lot of people.
- Cultural evenings in school
- Promotion of Non formal education in schools and NGO’s
- Extra funds from government to exchange visits
- Immigrant quota for company employment
Economical situation is strongly connected with unemployment. Every country has an unemployment rate, for some countries is it lager then others. We thought about solutions like:
- Regulation that enforces companies to employ people with disabilities.
- Courses to build up skills, main aim would be students and people who are not employed.
- Regulation to employ same percentage of men and women (50% for each).
- Law that protects the rights to practice any kind of religion of the individual’s choice without affecting others.
- Training courses funded from government or other sources to teach employees/employers how to work with disabled people.
- Improvement for entrepreneurship programs for people who are studying.
Education and competitiveness. Main solutions are:
- Government funded professional training courses (providing working skills)
- Improving network of young professionals
- Afternoon courses at school to support learning process
- Summer camps from school
Everyone has stereotypes, but not always positive ones. How can we break them?
- Compulsory youth exchange or volunteering during school
- Multi ethnical games in primary school
- Promotion of cultures on multi ethnical events (concerts, festivals)
Recommendations to reduce the gap between different social classes.
- E-services, voting for suggestions that comes from ether citizens or political parties. Suggestions could be for anything, if at least 10 000 people will vote about your idea, the government will revise it.
- Support from government to alternative media channels (to provide covert media)
- Support from NGO’s and/or schools about basic political education with trainings for critical thinking and how to use media.

Europe 2020 Strategy provides different countries with financial support for projects with the aim of lifting people out of poverty and social exclusion and increasing employment of the population.
European platform against poverty and social exclusion proposes measures to reduce the number of people living in poverty or otherwise socially marginalised.
The Inclusion and Diversity Strategy outlines the support and possibilities available in the Erasmus+ programme for the youth field when it comes to including young people with fewer opportunities.
An association of people with intellectual disabilities and their families in Europe. The association can support interested organisations by exchanging knowledge and influencing European policies.

AS A TOOL FOR SOCIAL INCLUSION
Erasmus+ is the EU’s programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. Its budget of €14.7 billion will provide opportunities for over 4 million
Europeans to study, train gain experience, and volunteers abroad. Set to last until 2020, Erasmus+ doesn’t just have opportunities for students. Merging seven prior programmes, it has opportunities for a wide variety of individuals and organisations.

The aim of Erasmus+ is to contribute to the Europe 2020 strategy for growth, jobs, social equity and inclusion, as well as the aims of ET2020, the EU’s strategic framework for education and training.
Erasmus+ also aims to promote the sustainable development of its partners in the field of higher education, and contribute to achieving the objectives of the EU Youth Strategy.
